First-Year Admission: FAQs

No. ÂĚñÉç does not charge an application fee. We believe that cost should not be a barrier to opportunity, and we want every student to feel welcome and encouraged to apply—no fee, no waiver needed.

No. Occidental is test-optional. You can choose whether or not to submit SAT or ACT scores as part of your application. If you feel your scores strengthen your application, you're welcome to include them, but they are not required and the lack of scores won’t be counted against you.

If Occidental is your clear first choice and you're ready to commit, Early Decision is a great option. You'll find out sooner and demonstrate serious interest—factors that can strengthen your application. But if you’re still exploring your options or need to compare financial aid offers, Regular Decision offers more flexibility. Either way, you’ll be considered for admission and financial aid with the same level of care and attention.
